The Song That Changed My Life on BYUtv

Has a song ever changed your life?

I had never really pondered this question until a TV series aired on BYUtv a while back, but now it really has me thinking.

First off, the show is absolutely amazing. Basically, a different artist or band is spotlighted each week. They talk about their career, how they got started, how they wrote their songs, and most importantly, the song that inspired them.

Moved them.

Taught them.

Pushed them.

Encouraged them to do better and be better.

The song that changed their life.

Many of you are probably already familiar with the show. Honestly, I tend to be one of the last ones to jump on the train when it comes to TV and music [I swear I must lose all of my tickets or get distracted buying ice cream at the figurative train station or something...I'm pretty slow to catch onto trends. :D]. The show has been out for a while, but I've just recently discovered how awesome it really is. For all who are late to the train like me, let me tell you: It is amazing.

One thing I love about the series is the inside look it gives into the ins and outs of the music industry. Learning how each artist finds their voice and style is absolutely fascinating, and hearing about how their life's experiences have prepared them for their careers is ever so touching.

I have to admit that my favorite part of the show is hearing the musicians perform their music. After hearing their stories, the songs become so much more special and meaningful.

Is there a song that has changed your life?

  1. I don't know who sings this song or anything, but they had us sing "I Will" at girls camp one of the two times I got to go.
"I will stand / I will not fall / in a world that's weak / I will be strong / I'll be true / I will choose His way / yeah I know what's right / and I will not change / in a world where so many will not / I will"
Another one is "Changed" by Rascal Flatts
"I came up / out of the water / raised my hands / up to the Father...." This one is special cuz I'm so excited to get baptized, and converting to this awesome church signifies such an amazing change in my life. It makes me super happy.

    1. Those are both awesome songs! I think "I Will" is by Hilary Weeks. I love that one, too. Rascall Flatts is a great band as well! I haven't heard "Changed", but it sounds awesome! Thank you for sharing, Marie-Rose!

  2. I LOVE your blog! It inspires me daily! I want to thank you for the sweet comment you left on my blog the other day! It seriously made my day! You are one of my blogging heros :) The funny thing is I had a tab open where I was typing a comment about how much I loved your blog! I especially love Music Mondays because it is so hard to find good, clean music in today's world! Thanks for all the hard work you do to create this amazing blog!

    1. Thank you, Shelby! You are so sweet! Thank you for encouraging me!

I love hearing from you! Comment. I dare you.

[Trust me. I only eat ice cream. Not people.]

Also, if you have a blog, feel free to leave me a link. I'd love to get to know you better!
