And the Storm Has Ceased ... At Least I Hope So

Hola my long lost amigos!

Just kidding. You weren't lost.

I was.

Between the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference (where I placed third in my event, by the way!!! :D), finals week (46 page writing portfolio, anyone?) and graduation (how long does it take 300 teenagers to walk in a straight line? Answer = hours upon hours), as much as I yearned for the pages of this blog to be filled with goodness, every second I could spare was deposited into my meager bank of sleep. In case you're wondering, my net balance averaged to about four hours a night. I basically looked like this:

Now I do recognize that many of you Mom's and college kids out there survive on this meager ration of snooze time. I commend you. I wish I was as cool as you are. But I'm not. I need at least five and a half hours or I fall asleep in random places, like the teacher's desk (no joke...), Physics class, church (am I going to outer darkness?), and an airport (which doesn't sound weird unless you know that I was supposed to be supervising a gaggle of rambunctious freshmen. #fail).

Now that I'm finally beginning to regain some amount of consciousness and sanity, I'm happy to report that I am officially back and ready to make this blog groovy once more! (Can you tell I've watched The Emperor's New Groove recently? Boom baby!)

With that, dear readers, I bid thee farewell until the marrow. If you're still taking finals, may the odds be ever in your favor, may the force be with you, may you live long and prosper, and may you have all the blessings promised in the entire history of cliché movie quotes.

Fight on, brave warriors of academia.

  1. Glad to hear you survived. I don't know that moms deal with sleep deprivation any better than you. We may not fall asleep everywhere during the day, but that has more to do with the fact that there's a toddler jumping on our heads and demanding snacks than anything.

    1. Hahaha maybe I should have invited one of my toddler cousins to come and jump on my head and demand snacks, then. ;) Thanks for reading, Jenny! Your comment made my day.

  2. Haha sounds like my graduation practice. In high school I somehow managed to get six to seven hours of sleep and die, until my senior year when I was up till midnight doing homework then had seminary before school. Phew! I still wonder how I didn't fall asleep in class more than I did (like once in physics). But don't worry! You'll end up getting a lot more sleep in college if you do it right.

    1. Wow, I can't imagine having to survive senior year with early morning Seminary! I was lucky and had it during the last class hour of the day. I'm totally counting my blessings right now. haha ;) And the hope of more sleep in college is beyond comforting! Thanks for reading! <3

I love hearing from you! Comment. I dare you.

[Trust me. I only eat ice cream. Not people.]

Also, if you have a blog, feel free to leave me a link. I'd love to get to know you better!
